Hidden Secrets

In Hidden Secrets the world is slightly different. Where our biggest problem are, there they aren't. Earth's population is booming, there's no starving people in Africa, terrist have bigger fears, the celebraties get suddenly sick every now and then. And still the world goes on much happier then our, but different. They don't know about the forgotten races, nor the few that have abilities that would make them out casts in the society. They don't know about the dangers that watch them. Shadows aren't always shadows.

A world where the shadows can kill you in a blink of an eye. A world where very few know what lurks in shadows. One problem though.... The good guys and the bad guys are close friends and in some cases even related. For friendship can grow and strengthen; nothing before friendship will ever be the same there after. Every one has a secret. Some are just more life threatening then others.

I am currently in the slow and torturous process of rewriting the first thirty books or so in the forty-six books serious. Once I get the feeling that it would be worth wild to put up more, I will.

Sophie Jackson is no ordinary seventeen-year-old; of course she's pretty, just like any other young black women. Talented, creative and normal. On the outside - but it's what lurked inside the body that holds the secret. Her family was just arriving at their new home in a little town in Ontario, Canada called Dunnville. A Grand Living was what the billboard said entering the small town that known for it's Mudcat Festivals and being on the Grand River. The Jackson house of six had moved four hours west of Toronto to what they hoped for a better life, a safer place to raise the remainer of the family. So far they only had to stop fifteen times because of Sophie. Being wedged in between her two older brothers, Tongue and Nathan who would pass the time by poking her in the arm and humming annoying commercial themes, what any other brothers would do while driving this long in a car. Didn't help much that Sophie had a small case of claustrophobia, nor the fact that her brothers are complete jerks either.

Sophie, at the moment was ticked off at her older sister, Denies being able to stay behind to finish her four-year scholarship at Ontario College of Arts in Toronto. Hated the fact that her parents had actually let her move in with her boyfriend for five years, Overten Pretarian, oldest of six kids. She hoped Denies would stay there actually for it would mean that she'd have her very own room for the first time in her life. Finally, they could afford the rooms and meant no more doubling up.

Sophie knew about the move long before her parents were ready to tell the kids. Knew where kids around her age were buying and selling drugs, actually it was a little known fact for the highschool kids anyway. Knew about criminals getting away by hiding in the little run down piece of town they were moving away from. Which really wasn't all that bad, their neighbors and them were very close and often invited the other over for supper and birthday parties and such. Sophie knew a lot about things and people most weren't aware of, knew that the town they were moving into isn't as picture perfect as it seems. Knew about the cover ups and trash bins fires, cars and bikes being stolen, parks being scattered with dog and cow manure. People trying to pull out ATM machines and trying to rob McDonalds at closing time. Sophie had pretty good control over it, can black out the thoughts, she could get them from everyone in Ontario and maybe three miles outside. And yet, with all the knowledge she had she still couldn't talk her parents out of moving.

She had managed since the age of twelve how to hide it, how to live with it, how to live through the painful headaches she use to get. Luckily they didn't happen too much in her late teens. Of course her parents are always suspicious of her. When she was fifteen she became really good at covering up from a new ability, levitation. It all start rather simple and when she was calm, totally out of the blew. For a very short time the family thought that they had a ghost in the tiny two-floor house they had lived in. Sophie was the most embarrassed of this ability, it took her the longest time to control - to figure out. She would refuse to go to school for days, but it would never last long. They'd force her to go, and Sophie would skip every class and hide in the upstairs bath. So scared to leave, so frightened something would happen...

Toronto is a beautiful place and tones of people are happy to live there but her mom and dad had settle in there, for that was were the market was. Mrs. Martha Jackson's magazine to grow and flourish, she had one hundred people working for her. Mostly friends she had made trying to get started, and now after sixteen years she was relocating the business. A surprisingly large amount of workers were relocating themselves. She had spent a month making calls to hire people for the jobs that wouldn't be filled. Mrs. Jackson was doing it for several reasons, and sure she would loose several things but she would be gaining so much more. Mr. Jackson had finally been noticed; all his years of hard work were about to pay off big time in Welland, a half-hour drive from Dunnville. The law offices of Benedict, Jackson & Backush. It's going to be a great move, including a handsomely larger paycheck and benefits, especially since he was going to be a part ownership.

"What kind of new start can I have if I had to leave all my friends behind," Sophie starts up complaining again while gazing out the window, longing to be free of the car imprisonment.

Nathan adds his complaint for the fifth time, "Why couldn't one of us drive down with mom, yesterday, instead of being crammed in this car with all this junk?" He falls back against the blanket covered car seat.

Everyone Has a Secret, rewrite. Sophie Jackson mainly. Book #1 revised
